Hello fellow models. I was curious to know if any of you have had issues with having the 18+ photos being shown to those who do not have a MM account.

I know that there is a feature to turn off search engines from finding you but that is not enough. I am not ashamed of being a model, however, I live in the bible belt and being a nude model is either looked down on or there are pervs just hoping to catch a glimpse.

Anyone else having issues with their photos being shown publicly? I am wondering if I should reactivate my account.  Hmmmm.

You can hide/unhide your 18+ images.  Go to https://www.modelmayhem.com/mystuff/set … de_private and make the selection.

Just remember that for this to work you will have to have noted the picture as being 18+ and, of course, it will have no effect on any pictures your photographer(s) may have posted.

I also recommend that any models concerned with being "spotted" use a pseudonym that is totally unrelated to herself; not her mother's maiden name, not the street she was born on, not her first puppy's name, nothing.  Another helpful step would be to select a city perhaps 50 miles or so away from her own as her location.  It's still close enough to not bar her from local work, but it will help to throw the bloodhounds off the trail.

I can't think of any way short of not posing nude that is fool-proof, and even that doesn't always work--there are those who consider the epitome of photographic art to be pasting one person's head on someone else's nude body.

Of course, you could always ask the bible-bangers what they're doing browsing MM models' profiles in the first place.

You can minimize your risk, but not eliminate it.  I've been to Knoxville, and it can be a very small pond at times.  And you would only be 1 of 66 nude models in a 50 mile radius.  However, I do have some suggestions...

Realizing anyone can do a MM search for nude models, your avatar/face would pop up under any name.  While a non-descript avatar might help...it doesn't take long for anyone to get through 66 ports.  And if you hid your 18+ material, it would still be obvious you were modeling nude.

However....if you are wanting to increase your income by modeling nude...and want to stay relatively anonymous...I would suggest putting "no" under nudes and allude to doing nude work with select photographers in your profile.  I would then browse the profiles of the nude models and find out who the nude photographers are...and let them know you like their work, and are quietly doing nude modeling.  And...if they are interested...please contact you for rates and a sample of your nude work.  If you don't have any nude work (don't do selfies), negotiate a couple of combo paid/TF shoots.  I'm sure they would love a new model in the mix.

At this time you can also stipulate that you don't want them to credit you or your MM#  should they post images. I'm sure they will comply if they want to shoot with you again.  (There is a fairly successful local nude model that has 100% cooperation from photographers so far in this regard.)

I hope this helps.

You can also set your whole profile to private so that
non-members can't see it at all.

Moderator Note!
Ray, as a Forum Guide has given you some good information.  You have also been given good information about your privacy settings.

There are two important areas of your settings that you should make yourself familiar with:

CLICK HERE to see if you have hidden your 18+ photos from the public.

CLICK HERE to check to see how you have set your privacy settings.

Finally, it is a good idea to use a "stage name," rather than your real name, if you want to make it more difficult for people to search you out as a nude model.

Thanks for the question.

Good points all but if anyone puts you on a list they can access your image through the list even if they are not members and regardless of your privacy settings.

I suggest that you also opt out of being listed.

Just another thought
