So I have a Pin up shoot in a couple of months and the model wants a corset with her outfit, however I think she'd look better with just a bra since:
1. It's a military outfit
2. It's a zombie shoot(lots of blood and gore)

I don't see the point of ruining a corset for a shoots sake when I think it would be fine with just a bra.

Thoughts?

Depends on both the corset and bra each of you have in mind and how they look with the theme.
If the model is paying you, make your suggestions in a kind way but ultimately let her make the choice.

I'm paying her and the bra would be period appropriate lace nothing too showy and covered by the outfit quite a bit too

There are a few things that you have to seriously consider here:

First, what's the comfort level of the model? Corsets offer more coverage than bras do which may be a factor in why she wants to wear the former instead of the latter.

Second, whose vision is being shot and what type of shoot is it? If the shoot idea was something the model approached you with as opposed to something you two collaborated on or you approached her with then it's likely she has a very firm idea about what she wants. If this is a TF* shoot there should be room for compromise but if she's paying you then you should respect what she wants.

Third, who's providing the wardrobe? If you are then I understand not wanting to spend money on something that may end up ruined (although in reality it could totally be repurposed) but if she is then that's not really your concern.

Finally, have either of you seen the complete looks altogether? If not then that's something that needs to be done ASAP. If the model already has the pieces (I realize she may not based on the shoot time frame) arrange a meeting and have her try on the wardrobe. Snap a few quick shots of just her in the clothes (no hair, no make-up and no styling) for reference so that you can then review the images together and then make decision about what will work best on the actual shoot date.

Good luck!

I get what's being said but it was my idea, I'm paying her I'm providing wardrobe, and she had more exposed in the last pin up shoot we worked on then this one, I do plan on having the final look done by the weekend and will try to get her to see the final look. But I feel like I'm giving up a lot of ground for my idea

If that's the case then the reality is that there shouldn't be any debate about it. Just tell her what you're shooting and if she declines find another model.

You're paying, you're in charge.
TONS more models ready and waiting to shoot something like this to your exact specifications.

Maybe offer a decreased pay to her in exchange for her choice of outfit if you feel it wont completely ruin the shot you are trying to get, or kindly remind her whos in charge smile
