OMG YES!!! I've been saying this same for the longest.

I love maxi dresses, but so many of them have little straps you can see your bra straps under.

And I like watching Project Runway, but so many of the dresses they design do not take into account that 90% of women need bras to keep the girls at chest level.  LOL.

UGH!!

Some girls can get away without wearing bras, but a lot of us NEED them.

I kinda like the look of reveal bra, prior that they are cool looking straps.

Some studies suggest that bras are actually **bad** for women.

I dunno. I like a nice looking bra. Then again, I also like a nice looking pair of boobies without a bra. Sigh. Why does life have to be so damned difficult?

There's a style of shirt that seems to have become quite popular in my home town, a shirt with a stylized cutting in the back of the shirt, so unless you wear a skin tone bra, there's no way to avoid someone obviously wearing a bra underneath these shirts (they're super cute too).

Yeah I've heard that before.  Doesn't explain what to do about nipples showing through your shirt or boobies flopping all over the place, lol.

These are bad things, why?

Yes, this drives me freaking crazy!  As if it wasn't hard enough already to find things that fit our particular body types, look good, and are within budget, now half the stuff that I think is really cute is either see-through or is impossible to wear with a bra.  This trend and fake/teeny pockets are two of my biggest clothing pet peeves.

And Lohkee, most of us have heard that bras are bad for us, and those of us with large breasts *really* do not enjoy buying or wearing them.  Unfortunately, I really don't like feeling completely exposed when I'm not wearing a bra, because a) my nipples will show if I'm even a little bit cold--which I almost always am, and b) the girls will bounce like it's nobody's business, which is incredibly awkward and obvious when around people, not to mention the fact that if they bounce hard enough, it really hurts.

SO TRUE! Though honestly most of the time, I go without a bra. They're annoying. Usually i'll just wear a few tops (like a tank and a button up top over the tank) so I don't show through. Sometimes, I just go out and don't care. A few people have enjoyed the view, but otherwise meh.

Well, I'm not going to argue the point for no other reason that I am not a woman. I would point out, however, that women's fashions are designed by men or women who buy into what men think is sexy. High heels at the end of a nice pair of legs look great. They also seriously fuck up your body. I dunno. Maybe the beauty and inherent sexiness of a women comes from who she is (hard nipples, floppy boobs, and all), opposed to what she wears? Guess I'm just a dumb old man.

I never said or implied that you are dumb, I simply explained how uncomfortable it can be to go without a bra.

I completely understand that just because something is "the norm" in fashion (or any industry) does not mean that it is good or must inherently be followed.  I choose to wear bras because the discomfort they cause me is more favorable than the discomfort I would have if I were to not wear one.  I wear makeup because I like playing with colors and I enjoy the ritual of putting it on.  I wear high heels because *I* like the way they look, and because *I* feel sexy when I wear them.

My apologies. I did not mean to imply that you thought (or were saying) I was a dumb old man. As for the rest, I'm really not qualified to comment in any meaningful way because I am not a woman (but I do have nipples that get hard when I'm cold - and I suffer from shrinkage when skinny dipping in a cold mountain stream).

No. I take that back.

I've met some super-hot women dressed to the nines that were really ugly as hell in my life. I've also met some amazingly sexy women who wore little else than jeans and a "T" shirt.

Each to his/her own. It's all good.

I use 1" duct tape squares.
It hurts a bit to peel off, but it works.

Covering lactiferous ducts was why duct tape was invented!

I am a mom and breast fed. Squares aren't acceptable, ha! No mom wants to be known as "the one with the droopy boobs who doesnt wear bras." And kids talk wink I actually run the duct tape under both as a shelf and then one across. Does the same trick as the backless ones from Victoria's Secret. "Gorilla tape" works best. Hurts a lot more, but a small price for proper support smile

+1

I think a nice bra can be part of the look. Depends on the bra and the outfit and where you're wearing them of course.
I see the ops point when you try stuff on you want for work where it would be inappropriate. A lot of companies whose clients have traditionally been professional women are now doing this stuff.

It's another reason so many are turning to vintage or vintage inspired clothing imho. Where sexy isn't about revealing its about structure and form and tailoring.

I just don't wear one.

I have no boobs though.

I find shorts and skirts far more problematic. Even "yoga pants," because they tend to look very inappropriate on women with larger lower-bodies.

For those who want to cover just the nipples for slightly see through tops, or to eliminate straps; I buy these for models. Granted if you are really large breasted they may not work out well...

Most shirts are fine IF you wear the right kind of bra. T-back, strapless, plunge, long line, etc. I don't like my straps showing, ever. I am allergic to adhesive so I won't wear duct tape, pasties, etc. I have been known to wear shirts with a built in bra and if that doesn't work I wear layers. I find it tacky for the world to see my prominent nipples.

And what's the problem with nipples showing anyway? If you can see THROUGH the shirt where you can see the color and all, that's one thing, but if it's just the bump, who cares?

Surprise! I'm a mammal! I have nipples.

I consider my nipples to be private unless I choose otherwise. They are not merely bumps either. My own sister commented on their size!

Even Band-aids for sensitive skin bother me. I had a rash from one for a month once and it was only on for a few hours. I had eye surgery last year and they put on regular tape over the gauze eye patch. Half of my face was red and I made them change it as soon as I woke up from the anesthesia. Apparently they can't read my chart.

Nah bro. I can't have my titties flying away in the wind.
I don't give a shit about my bra showing though. I'm usually just grateful that I found one that fits properly lol
