Wow - Willy Wonka!

Seriously - that's kinda creepy.

The article states the photo is from a French magazine photo shoot.  That explains a lot... roll

Definitely creepy & misleading photo. Maybe a controversial photo for publicity purposes?

I've never read the Chocolate Factory or the Glass Elevator, so I ordered the hardback boxed set of each form Amazon because of this thread. And I threw in a hardback of the Silmarillion too.

Charlie & The Chocolate Factory was one of my favourite books growing up...

The movie was cool too. Not the Tim Burton bastardization but the one with Gene Wilder..

I have both movies, and I think I like both movies, but I've never read the book.

Roald Dahl wrote some messed-up stuff first published in Playboy ("Bitch" is probably the best example, but there are others, also featuring his "Uncle Oswald" character), so, yes... there is definitely an adult side to his writing... however, "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" will be forever associated with the Willy Wonka movies, and all the controversial book covers in the world ain't gonna change that.

The book is a lot more like the Burton version, except less Burtony.
