I think we all know this photo from Windows. Does anyone know where it was taken? I'm going to visit Denver and I thought it might be in that area?

You may need to call ahead and make a reservation. I understand that they allow only a limited number of people go there every day. It is also a difficult hike.

I'm talking out of my ear here as this is second hand but I heard from some local folks who went up that way recently that on some level some of those areas were being closed due to recent damage. There were still great areas in the region but some of the more popular ones were being protected at that time. You might be able to get permission you might not.

This.  Especially during busy season.

I believe you have to get a hiking permit to go there now because too many people would go out unprepared and die or need rescuing.

I heard it was an easy hike, but it can get extremely hot and there is no cover from the sun...which I guess in that sense can make it a difficult hike.
