I am attending my first hair show in Charlotte and will be represented by AGUAGE. What should I expect during the hair show? Today I will be meeting with Shawna Pervin to discuss possible hair styles? How open do I have to be on deciding a new hair style? Would it be acceptable if I would wish not get any length cut, but perhaps a change in color? (Natural color)?

Thanks!

Exercise caution........those hair stylists are prone to do what they want, and that can mess you up as a model.

Hair shows and hair stylists vary. If you have not been chosen by a hair stylist for the show - your chances are not very good at getting a good one. That's because any decent stylist wants a model with good hair. That means lots of thick healthy hair; as opposed to thin, dry-over-processed, brittle, fine hair. They should want to know that before the show.

Without having worked with a stylist, you stand a chance of having your hair damaged by over-processing since the are under time pressure instead of monitoring carefully and using milder dilutions.

If you have no idea of the style or purpose of the show, you won't know until you talk to the stylist, not just the show producers - but the actual stylist that will do your hair. You just have to hope you get someone good and understanding.

A hair stylist will not like limitations - but a good stylist will work with the hair to keep it naturally healthy and with a cut that fits the model and their lifestyle. Others will only want showy, fancy, show-off styles regardless of the model and they may or may not be competent nor take consideration of the hair's health.

My advice is to be careful.    If you have any doubt as to what they are suggesting, move on.   It is very easy to end up with a hair style that will make getting other work more difficult.

You don't get to choose what happens to your hair they could cut it all off, dye it a funny color
