Is anyone using this combo, or something close to it ??  Wet and darkness has hit Oregon, and i need a good indoor zoom now.  I have the 35 f/1.8, but would like something more versatile.  Have heard a tiny bit of compatibility issues.  Anyone with hands on experience here ??  Thanks in advance for imput or photos ~ m

rent it before buying it.  Nothing more enlightening than using it yourself.

It's an interesting and unique lens, but I haven't heard much about it after it was released. Not that I'd expect to in this place. Check out luminous landscapes?

I've had this lens since summer, paired it with an old D5000 until about a month ago. It's a solid, quality lens, with nice bokeh and sharpness. Well worth the $800, especially if it lasts me 10 years. I didn't buy it for model shoots and haven't really used it for that, but in the few times I did it worked well.

Consider it both an 18 and 35mm 1.8 lens, which is the reason I bought it. If you already have the 35mm 1.8 I'm not sure you'll be blown away just having the reach down to 18mm.

Not sure what compatibility issues you've heard of, but I've had none. It works just as well on the D750, even being a DX lens.
