London sits at around 51.5 degrees north, that puts it further north than all of the US (aside from Alaska) and about as far north as Winnipeg and Vancouver.

Despite that, yesterday at the arse end of October, it was a balmy 72 degrees F, making yesterday, the warmest Halloween on record over here.

Even better, apparently we can expect more of the same today, well, down at the south eastern end of the country anyway . . . . and given that's where I am, bring it on.

England is so warm because of the Gulf Stream.

I have no idea how or why they keep England warm, but I've heard and read about it so many times that I believe it.
