In its Sixth Edition, the
Picture of the Day (POtD) competition is perhaps the most popular thread in the history
of
Model Mayhem. The previous edition ran over 470 pages, with more than 18,800 posts.
What makes the POtD unique is the innovative approach taken to the competition by its creator and original host
Craig Seay.
The POtD allows for great flexibility of expression, while keeping the playing field as level as possible for both
novice and experienced photographers, models, and others. The competition is fun and yet challenges everyone
that participates in it!
A special word of thanks goes to Craig for his wonderful and lasting contribution!

Enter your best work and vote for your favorite image! The
Picture of the Day winner will be posted at the top of the thread and proceed to the
Winners’ Gallery web-site the following day.
VOTING CLOSES at 12:00 AM Eastern Time (official US time) or shortly thereafter at the discretion of the Host or
Co-host.
Please make every effort to cast your vote by Midnight Eastern Time. All voting officially ends when the Red
End-of-day banner is dropped, with no votes for a given day counted afterward.
1. NO 18+ IMAGES or LINKS as defined by Model Mayhem’s 18+ image policy found here. 18+ images are those that include:
- Female nipple or areola,
- Bare buttocks,
- Flaccid penises,
- Pubic area,
- Bondage,
- Depictions of illicit drug use,
- Depictions of blood,
- Depictions of violence*,
- See through clothing which shows any of the above.
Also forbidden are images that include:
- "Spread shots" (vaginal or anal),
- Erect penises,
- Explicit sexual content*,
- Shots that focus primarily on the genitals or anus.
*NOTE: These are at the discretion of the Model Mayhem Moderators and Picture of the Day staff.
The Moderators are our friends but don't test them.
The
Picture of the Day (POtD) Host and Co-hosts reserves the right to disqualify any image at their discretion. The POtD competition may be viewed by the public. If an image can’t be posted at the top of this thread and in the
Winners' Gallery then don’t enter it in the competition. Also 18+ links cannot win so don’t post a link.
IF you enter an 18+ image then you put this thread in violation of Model Mayhem rules. The POtD may be locked as a result of your action. Please THINK of others before you post your entry.
If your entry is 18+ or questionable a private message requesting compliance will be sent to you and copied to one of our Moderators.

Please consider

2. You may only enter an image that you were directly involved in creating as photographer, model, makeup artist, or some other creative-team member.
If the copyright holder requests that an entry be withdrawn from competition then the image and any votes it received may be disqualified.
3. No unnecessary chit chat, debates, or critiques. Let’s keep the discussions to a minimum, filling these pages with images and not dialog. Also, this is not a platform for your politics, religion, or personal story.
4. Do not re-post an image within
15 days or the image will be disqualified.
5. When voting please use the word
VOTE, so as not to confuse your vote with just a comment such as
"This is cool" or
"I really like this one".
You may post only
ONE IMAGE per day and you may cast only
ONE VOTE per day. Images may be of any subject -- people, cats, dogs, butterflies, bridges... most any photography not falling under Model Mayhem's 18+ policy is acceptable.
IF you enter an image then you are expected (but not required) to vote.
DO NOT VOTE FOR YOUR OWN IMAGE.
All votes will be counted at Midnight, 12:00 AM Eastern Time or shortly thereafter. When the BIG RED
End/Beginning of Day banner goes up the day's voting ends.
6. NO VOTE STACKING!!! In all fairness to contestants and others, please don't impose upon your friends and associates to vote for you. We see
friend votes at times; but if I sense abuse or see many newcomers showing up to vote for you then
I will investigate and may disqualify your votes.
Models, Makeup Artists, and Photographers who have participated in the creation of a posted image may not vote for that image. Such
friend votes will be disqualified.
7. An image that has previously won
First-place in the
Picture of the Day competition cannot be entered into competition a second time. If such an image is then the image will be disqualified.
8. If your image has been posted for more than a few minutes then DON'T change it.
9. Please post your image only
once on the day that you enter it. Contestants are
not permitted to
BUMP images.
Such images will be disqualified.
10. The
Picture of the Day Host and Co-hosts reserve the right to disqualify images at their discretion.
11. Current
Picture of the Day rules are posted here.
By entering an image in the competition you agree to participate by the rules as posted at the start of that day. Rules may be modified, added, or dropped without notice.

To post an entry to the
Picture of the Day (POtD) competition:
1. Select a hosted image, such as the full-resolution image in your Model Mayhem portfolio, and open it.
2. Right click on the image and scroll to
Properties on the menu that appears.
3. Highlight (selecting with Ctrl-a) and copy (with Ctrl-c) the URL Address (web address).
4. Paste the image's web address to the POtD thread with the code [img]URL Address[/img]
