September 23, 2012 2:20pm This is an infra red image. There is essentially no post production manipulation other than to slightly crop the edges of the image and to do a small amount of sharpening.
Infra red doesn't see the same spectrum as the human eye. We can see what IR sees by recording it in a spectrum that we can see. Leaves and needles on trees, for example, contain chlorophyll which reflects close to 100% of the Infra Red spectrum, and thus appear white.
It's a wonderful, magical world worth learning about if you are interested.
