November 13, 2009 2:52am A strikingly gorgeous and well judged encounter. Numerous small details contribute to an overall sense of a relationship in which you are taking the role of a protective though domineering figure, with your companion in a vulnerable, dependent role: the stance / height difference (obviously). Also, the way the light emphasises different aspects of your bodies, giving you a smooth, almost super-humanly statuesque appearance, while the hint of bone structure highlighted on your companion casts her in a very much human, fragile light. Other such details include the lowered, focused eyes and closed teeth in your expression, giving you a decidedly lascivious look that matches your sensual action of caressing her. In contrast, she clings to you with a loving but not lustful appearance, her soft expression focused elsewhere, as if she has come to you for protection against unseen forces. This could, IMO, very easily work as a "Death and the Maiden" concept shot, emcompassing as it does all of the themes that surround that artistic trope (The fragility of humanity, the "lust" of Death for humanity, yet also the sense of her as our "final refuge" against the pains of the world). Powerful performances, exquisitely captured.
