About Me

I am a portrait/figurative artist (I draw/paint) that also happens to enjoy the relatively instant gratification of photography. While my paintings and drawings focus on portraiture and figurative work I tend to photograph anything that catches my eye. That said my goal in working with models is to create artwork expressive of sensuality, emotion, color, light, and the beauty of the female form while enjoying  the collaborative process between the model and myself. A more extensive gallery of my work, including my drawings/paintings and non model photography may be viewed here: . Scroll down the page or click on  "all my photography" to view the galleries. Please note that my wife is also an accomplished photographic artist and  is often available as a second photographer on a shoot. Her work may be viewed here on MM at or on her website at .

If you would like to work with me it is best to be direct so please feel free to email me and I will get back with you. Integrity, common courtesy, clear and prompt communication, and a creative nature are always helpful when contacting me about a shoot.

At this point I wish to go over how I typically work with models so there should not be any surprises the day of a shoot. I do this for creative pleasure only and not for monetary profit so I usually only work for trade, preferring to work with those who are motivated and inspired by creativity rather than money. I provide you with edited and web sized images as you see in my portfolio (generally within about a week by email) and while I typically weed out 50 to 75% you should still expect a considerable number. I also occasionally create paintings or drawings using my photos as reference material and if I do I also provide a jpeg of that (or them) as well. Please respect my desire to keep money out of the equation and do not ask me for pay. While I may make an exception to tf work with very talented individuals it is very rare and I will let you know if that is the case for you. Before going any further I wish to emphasize a point of clarification on my drawings and paintings. As they are highly finished, realistic in style and scaled close to life size they can take well over 100 hours of my time to complete and so while I do not promise to do one from every shoot it is a possibility. For studio work I set up space in my home where I know and can control the light, typically shooting in the afternoon. Shoots generally take 2 to 3 hours and you are welcome to bring an escort but I would need to know ahead of time. I will also need you to sign a model release.

These days if I send you a friend request it means I either have an interest in working with you or very much respect your work/talent. Other than that I am not really into the whole "friend" thing on here so if you send me one and I don't add you please don't take it personally. If you do send me one though I much prefer a tag or a note to go with it. Not too much to ask is it?

Serious inquiries only please.

"From our initial communication, I knew there was something special about Steve F. For weeks before the shoot, we exchanged ideas and shared the work of artists we admired. I knew I had found a mentor. Steve taught me a pivotal lesson - rapport and shared creative energy is critical to an artistic collaboration. My work with Steve F inspired me as I move forward on this journey - to work with artists I admire to create evocative images. Thank you, Steve." Read less

"I had the pleasure of collaborating with Steve and his wife. They were so down to earth and accomodating the whole way through from offering coffee, water, and making me dinner afterwards to ensure I was feeling my best. I especially loved how free they allowed me to be during our shoot, encouraging concepts but letting me execute them however I chose to. We shot in the woods outdoors and they provided fabrics and props, and were extremely professional in all aspects. I am very much looking forward to our studio shoot in the near future! Thanks guys" Read less
