My name is Uniquka.(like unique, just add a "ka" at the end of it) The process usually works like this: 1. I get hit with an idea and get inspired by anything, anywhere, at anytime. 2. I draw the idea out on paper. 3. Make a trip to the fabric store .4.Make the creation with my sewing machine. 5. Wear it and and be my own walking advertisement. Do you know what an awesome feeling it is to wear your idea! Do you know how awesome it is to go out and have a person ask you, Ohhh, girl, where did you get that outfit and I respond by saying,"I made it"? It's unbeliveably fantastic!. Wanna talk about a passion for fashion? I have been fashion born and fashion bread since age 8 when my mom first introduced me to a needle and thread. I began making dresses for my barbies. My dad then bought me my first sewing machine at age 12 and I produced my first fashion show at age 14 for a highschool talent show and my clothes won first place. So cool! Since then, I have been asked to design for practically everyone. My work has been recognized by the Dallas Morning News, Houston Style Magazine, The State Fair of Texas, Day Sun Magazine,The Dallas Expo, The Future Fashion Leaders of America, CW31, Good Day Sacramento Morning Show. As a designer, I believe in creative thinking. I WANT to stand out from mainstream fashion. Also as a designer, I want to have a purpose that goes beyond the runway and make a difference with my talent.
