About Me

Hi. My name is gregory robert kahofer. I have been shooting photography professionally for 8 years now. At one point i used to live on the road selling artwork at different music festivals, art conventions, and nightclubs all over the east coast. Currently, i am a rescue swimmer in the Navy. I get to jump out of helicopters for a living, more or less. While i am permanently stationed in Hawaii, i am on temporary orders to San Diego while i learn a new helicopter to operate. I am also a writer and have just finished my first book. I am in the final stages of preparing the novel to be digitally published on Google Play, Itunes, and Amazon Kindle.
As far as my photography goes, i could write pages about every aspect. But, it’s easier for people to just experience it for themselves. If you see anything here you would like to be a part of, then cool, lets make some art. I do say this to everyone who views my art. All artwork i create is formatted at 11 by 17 or 24 by 36. Because of the intense detail inherent in every photo edit i do, i usually delete 90 percent of the artwork i upload onto the web. Any shrinking of these images creates a totally different encounter than what i was trying to create. If i don’t shrink it, i crop out most of the image so people can see the fine detail.

If you go to
you can view my “flipbooks.” Basically, i take all the different color edits i create and put it to music. Right now, all the flipbooks have a single timing fade. All others created will go to the beat of the music. I started my first flipbook going to the beat of the music but dropped my hard drive on deployment and lost three months worth of work. Same thing goes with the videos as it does with the still prints, shrinking them and de-pixalating them ruins the experience greatly.

If you go to
you can view more of the colorful animations on this page. I call them tweaks. (DO NOT LOOK AT THIS IS YOU ARE PRONE TO SEIZURES) These fast flashing animations are simply me fooling around with intense timing effects, but it will give you a better idea as to what the fast changing flipbooks will look like. The specs on your viewing device makes a huge difference as to how these animate. I do greatly recommend zooming in on the photos that can be zoomed in on because you will get a very different effect on the larger tweaks. Also, with any image shown in a tweak, i can only show a small fraction of the entire image due to computer processing complications,. Usually, just the face is shown instead of the entire body.

As far as my future intentions of what i wish to accomplish with my artwork, they are the same as any other artist, i want my art to be seen. When i leave San Diego, i will be purchasing a 5,000 dollar printer and finalizing my website. I have well over 20,000 prints ready to go. I will also be selling black light posters and color changing/3D lenticular posters. 50 percent of all proceeds go to one of five different foundations. If you ask why i would do this, the answer is something between, “because i can and because i should.” Further down the road, i plan of opening galleries in the different areas i have lived in and was able to do photography with models in. Being bounced around in the navy definitely helped with this.

“Don't just make art, be art.”
