I'm a photographer in training. I'm also a performing musician with a partner who is an actress and performer herself. Most of my photography so far has been at events either myself or my partner have been involved in.

Capturing events can be kind of like having photographs handed to you on a silver platter, the image is already there - the models are styled, posed and lit - you just have to have technical ability and speed to capture that image. Other than being able to spot visually strong moments and act quickly to get them down, there is a whole other side of creating great photography you don't get much exposure to. That being - creating images from scratch, and working as part of a team with the model, and/or stylist & makeup artist to achieve the final work.

I feel I'm ready to start exploring that, and would like to meet models who are happy to go into a shoot without much expectation of what comes out of it - other than meeting a nice person :) . I have a great camera, lens and space, but no lights at present - so we'd be relying on available light, the weather, and just generally improvising in the moment. We'd be collaborating, so you'd need to be comfortable with us learning from each other, making mistakes, confidently communicating, and - hopefully - getting the type of positive creative flow happening that can be its own reward. As a bonus, we might get some great shots too :)
