I'm an event photographer in Portland, OR. All of my images are shot and edited by myself.

Natural-looking photo retouching is what I do. Since my photographic specialty is events and not studio work- my subjects are almost never posed. The lack of predictability in shots that this has created over the last 10+ years has given me unique opportunities to learn how to adjust images correctly in a huge variety of scenarios.

I don't often share "before and after" versions of photos I've edited. This is primarily because I like the idea of people gaining confidence in thinking they always photograph like a model. (Suspension of disbelief goes a long way when you're shooting someone for the 50th time). Nobody wants to know how their skin, curves or wardrobe were adjusted in a shot to make it just right. Everybody has bad angles- the trick is making subtle adjustments to minimize the flaws and maximize the beauty that everybody has.

There's nothing I love more than showing somebody a photo of themself and watching their eyes light up. Yes, you really are that perfectly gorgeous all the time! (ssssssh!) :)

Using comparative "before and after" images takes some of the magic out of the end product- but for the sake of showing what I've got, I've posted some here on MM.
