Hello, my name is Dan Guerrero and I make my living as a woodworker in Austin Texas. You're supposed to do what you love in life and while I am very much into the custom furniture that I build, I would much prefer to spend my time creating more artwork.

I concentrate mostly on the human form and am constantly amazed at the endless inspirations and variations the human body offers. My heroes of the artworld are pretty varied but they all have one thing in common, they were incredible draftsmen (Bellmer, Bosch, Bouguereua, Breugel, Cadmus, Currin, Ingres, Rivera) I enjoy using a variety of media but I always come back to graphite and silverpoint. Silverpoint is the technique of using silver wire (you can use any metal: gold, platinum, copper etc., and all leave a subtly different mark.) on a ground that has been coated with gesso and sanded smooth. Once you make a mark you can't erase it, so it is a demanding media but makes for a really beautiful line quality.
