My grid-based work explores creating visual and psychological tension by imposing an abstract motif on to the implied objectivity of a photograph. Or vice versa, depending on how one approaches it. One of my goals is to engage the viewer as a participant in the board game I create in the process, to linger more before proceeding to the next image. I also like working with multiple exposure to suggest movement. Finished work is printed in large and middling sizes: Better justice is done to them when seen printed at 24" x 30" or so.

I mainly shoot 4x5 and 6x7, but have started using a full-frame Sony A99 on occasion. I plan to do some video pieces eventually. I also enjoy shooting outdoors.

I'm disciplined about work, but try to keep it fun. I also respect the model and keep my shoots professional. You can contact any of the models listed in Credits for a reference. Since I get better results from collaborative sessions, I prefer to meet with a model beforehand, if possible. Also bear in mind that, since I like a classic look, I favor models with minimal body modifications.

Note that, like many others here, I'm not here to collect friends other than models I'd like to shoot with, those who articulate an interest in my work, or those whose work I particularly admire. If I don't accept a friend request, you are still a beautiful person.
