It's easy to slap some fake blood on someone and call it a 'horror image' but to capture the emotion, atmosphere and detail that goes into creating a truly haunting masterpiece takes a certain keen eye. Anathema Photography has just this..She's a storyteller of the macabre, with a strong ability to capture emotion..Her images portray ...nightmares, self-struggle, death and torture yet they are incredibly sophisticated and highly cinematic. It’s hard not to see the amount of work that goes into her images, from the carefully sourced out locations and impeccable lighting to the unique props and special FX make up (which she does herself).
This is horror imagery as it should be..Dark and clever..
On a personal note Anathema is an amazing person to work with, she's an artist and one of the most commited people I know. She goes above and beyond for her art and is more humble then she should be...

Danielle Anathema is awesome. This incredibly talented woman has helped me create images that I've had rolling around in the back of my head for a long time. It's hard for me to come across photographers that don't want to simply shoot sexualized fashion shots but want to manifest an image that provokes the viewer by making a powerful statement. That's why I fell in love with Danielle. Her touch of horror & macabre + my personal political views regarding the concept of female beauty = a lot of badass photography.
