Hello, Model Mayhem!

Growing up my father had photography as one of his hobbies and I suppose a little of that has rubbed off on me. Since being a kid lugging around that little 110 point-and-shoot camera, I've always enjoyed capturing a candid or unexpected moment on film (or bits these days). While I have always enjoyed taking photos, it's only recently that I have begun to be more interested in going beyond the world of the point-and-shoot photography that I've enjoyed in the past. In the past year I became good friends with someone that made a hobby of dressing up for the camera and she twisted my arm in to helping her with some photography. As part of that journey, I upgraded my camera equipment and have been attempting to learn more about all the knobs and buttons on the camera that can help me take great photos. Or at least some good ones.

Here on Model Mayhem I hope to expand my knowledge and creativity with portrait photography and perhaps help others do the same.
