About Me

From the first hat I was hooked....

Watching my aunt get dressed up in her hats kindled my love affair with hats and all things glamorous at a very young age. She still wears her hats and gloves at the tender age of 88.

It’s Lynette, is my love child in which my love of hats, evening, and retro fashions of the 30's, 40’s, 50’s, 60's and 70’s was cultivated into creating and designing artsy and unique headwear.

Around about January 2008 while creating hats, it was suggested that I contacted Julibee Theater, who was putting on the play "Crowns", to ask if I could lend hats to their production. After my interview with them, I was asked to supply hats for actors and the lobby as prop displays throughout the running of “Crowns”. During this time I was interviewed by Mark Lowry for an article published with Fort Worth Star Telegram.

Later that year, I traveled to California to learn the required technique and skills of Millinery with noted hat designer Wayne Wichern of Redwood City, California; www.waynewichernmillinery.com and returned home to be mentored by Dalph Johnson, Hat Designer in Dallas, Texas. My studies in the art of making hats with vintage or newly designed head blocks give ongoing joy and delightful experiences.

Even though I design accessories such as brooches, and other wonderful creations with the vintage look that I love so dearly, Hat designing caters to my nature of being a free spirit. With every page in a fashion magazine I turn, as well as everyday life that I encounter, my free spirit is invoked to create Artsy and Unique Headwear.
