Hey! I'm Christina and I run Portraits of People I know, a freelance photo project based on Long Island, New York. My love for photography began when I got my hands on my grandma's camera and started shooting shows and local bands (back when film was the only option). Once digital photography took off, I got myself into experimenting with portraits. I did a few headshots, forced friends to model, figured out how to edit, and eventually made my name known across the island.

After taking a few years off to focus on school and work, I jumped back into my craft and created Portraits of People I Know. The name simply comes from not being able to come up with a good Instagram handle and using this name for time being. It ended up sticking due to people liking it, and it started to grow on me as well.

I still specialize in shooting bands, shows, and portraits. I am looking to rebuild my portfolio and to connect with those who love pushing their creativity to the max. I have done quite a few "behind the scene" shoots in salons (prepping for shows), recording studios, and more.
