About Me

https://www.instagram.com/bcliston/

Art is my life-long obsession, pleasure and torment.

I'm a professional, fine art figurative painter, sculptor and instructor. Being a professional means this is how I make a living, I’ve been in the business most of my life. I’m nationally known and sell and display my artwork in some of the nation’s most prestigious galleries and shows.

Even though I take my work very seriously, I’m easy going and fun to work with, I think:-). I enjoy collaborating with my models and always appreciate your input and feedback, I couldn’t paint the figure without you. I enjoy the process of creating imagery of beautiful, individualistic and remarkable people. I respect and appreciate what you do and who you are, modeling is not easy!

With that said, I am a bit picky with whom I work with as I’m not just taking some random photos. The images are part of my personal ideas regarding art, it’s very meaningful to me and I love the idea of this art form not being so transient, meaning it will be around for a long time to come and for generations to view long after I’m gone (well, hopefully).

Note for models:
As a professional artist, I expect the same from my models. This doesn’t mean you need to have a lot of experience in modeling (actually in many cases the contrary is preferred), it simply means that I expect you to show up on time or if you need to reschedule to give me as much time as possible; exactly what you would do for any other job.

My environment (studio) is casual, pleasant, clean and warm. I don’t typically look for TFW but if you're interested I would be happy to do a trade or a partial trade if you'd like an oil painting study of yourself. Feel free to ask, I’m sure we can figure something out.
Also just so you know, I work in one of two manners. Either from life sittings or from my own photo reference. They are two different approaches but the end result is still a piece of art- The camera is a tool I use to capture the imagery for my work. I paint, I draw, I sculpt.

"Bryce Cameron Liston was one of the very first artists who hired me and did so many times. I can safely say he instilled a great passion to create art anyway possible. He also helped me realize that I create art, using my body as my medium! I hope we have many more opportunities to work together. " Read less
