Back in 2007, I was working for a RTW Women’s Fashion company called Voodoo Productions, and they came to me with the idea of learning about cameras so that we could have an in-house person shoot during showroom events. Almost directly after that suggestion, my brother-in-law offered me a position working with him doing video (while he did photography) for a Los Angeles based paparazzi company called JFX. I decided to take the offer, and while I shot video (something I had learned in high school during the earlier 2000’s), I would pick his brain about shooting stills until I was comfortable working a DSLR on my own. Before I knew it, I was head over heels for cameras and ready to leave the design world altogether.

Ten years later, I’m focused heavily on creating my own identity and displaying my craft with the focus being on the things I love - pop culture, fashion, sexuality, rock and roll and badassery. I want people to know just looking at my DIY leather jacket and Chuck Taylor’s that I’m the dude that put those risqué, eye-catching, exquisite photos into the world. Frankly, I enjoy some of my work to involve nudity for the sake of the human body being an appealing quality we all share, though it’s not always necessary to tell the narrative I’m trying to get across. Along with portraits, I’ve also spent a good amount of my time shooting food/beverage, film stills and events photography; most notably the Secret Summer Party in Long Island City.
“I think that emotional content is an image’s most important element, regardless of the photographic technique. Much of the work I see these days lacks the emotional impact to draw a reaction from viewers, or remain in their hearts.” - Anne Geddes
With an arts background, doing my schooling at the Art Institute of New York City, I decided I wanted to create a project that [s]recreates[/s] references some of my greatest influences (the names above) in the social arts world. This will be a series of think pieces showing the evolution of former art styles by expanding on their attributes with the art form of instant film portraiture. Currently, I’m working on Three American Flag pieces that display the differences we all have as Americans. Two of these are NSFW-though not erotic in nature (and one of these only displays women) and one of them is Safe for Work (and displays people with big followings). I would credit Warhol, American Apparel, Jasper Johns, Terry Richardson and SaisTV for the inspiration of this particular piece, but this is just the beginning. Typically, I ask/suggest that each model I work with allow me to shoot polaroids too, but if this tickles your fancy and you want to help me create art...get involved!
