MECA definitely looks at things from more of an Art perspective, and it is great for that. Unfortunately the degree system works this way; All students receive a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) upon completion (undergrad), with a focus in a specific genre. This means that 2d, 3d, color theory, and other courses are mandatory to meet the degree requirements. the 2d class focuses on composition and placement on a 2d plane, the same for 3d, only you are using 3 dimensions. An entrance Portfolio with a minimum of 5 illustrations must be submitted as well, they only accept 300 students a year, and they get lots of applicants. The process may have changed since 05, but it is a good school. If you want to just go to a photo school, MECA is not for you. Like I said before, MECA is pricey, which is why I reconsidered my placement.
