My interest in photography can be accredited to my older cousin who traveled the world alongside his DSLR camera. After seeing his vivid photos of architecture and scenery, I immediately wanted to follow in his footsteps. Although I did not have a camera of my own, I was fortunate to have an older brother who let me play around with his. The summer before I started my 3rd year at Texas A&M University, I purchased my first camera, a Canon Rebel XSi. I learned the basics of photography and experimented with my new camera. In order to grow as a photographer, I applied for a part-time photography job at The Battalion, a student-run newspaper at Texas A&M University. Through my experiences at The Battalion of photographing numerous sporting events, prominent politicians visiting campus, student leaders, and various projects and portraits, I expanded my photography knowledge and experience. A local company took particular interest in my Texas A&M University pictures and purchased them to publish and sell around Texas.
I have also had the opportunity to work with many professional photography companies and photographers in the local Houston area for weddings and special events.
