Maya Puentes is a professional Chicago-based freelance hairstylist and makeup artist, as well as a licensed cosmetologist. She began her career behind the chair at a boutique salon in 2001. With a goal to make every client who sat in her chair feel and look great, she sought to continue educating herself on the latest trends and techniques in the industry. She even spent time as an educator for Paul Mitchell.

Her passion for hair and makeup and fashion, lead her to further her career by becoming a freelance artist. Her resume consists of photo shoots, fashion shows, movies and more. She has done hair and makeup for Fuze It World Wide Fashion Shows, editorial shoots in New York City and has also been part of the hair team for designers Kenneth Pool and Christos during New York City Bridal Fashion Week.

Maya continues to further her education in an industry that is always evolving. Most recently she has completed classes at Makeup First School of Makeup Artistry and a workshop with Linda Mason, celebrity makeup artist.

She joined Model Mayhem inorder to expand her professional network and job oppurtunities. All things that will help her attain her professional goals.

Creativity, passion for the art and her desire to make people look good and feel great are what drives her to work hard every day!
