Greetings! My name is Alexis Michelle Cook. I am a 28 year old female living in Tampa, Florida. I am an energetic, outgoing, fun-loving, free spirit. I have been dabbling in the modeling industry since I was 13. I worked with an agency that sent me to a modeling exposition in Texas where I came in second runner up and received 13 call backs. Unfortunately I did not get very far after that. My desire to model then fizzled out once I started high school. As time passed and I got older, I began to hear the same questions… ‘What do you want to be when you get older’ or ‘what is your passion?’ and my first thought was modeling. About mid-2010, after living in Long Island for almost three years and surviving two very bad relationships, I moved back home to my family to find out that my last grandparent had to undergo a double bypass. I chose to fly to Indiana to stay with her and care for her until she recovered. Two and a half months later I came home with the drive to jump start my life again. I have recently been in touch with my talent coach, Joanne, from years ago and she has encouraged me to get more involved with modeling. I have attended two casting calls for hair modeling in which I was chosen both times to model with Pureology, and I have already been invited back to model for the Premier International Beauty Event in Orlando next year. I have also been a part of several fashion shows with Joanne and spoken about my modeling experiences in her classes. Currently I am working with a good friend to update her vintage clothing website and to master her photography skills. In just one day we took over 800 photos and shot at least 15 different outfits with many more still to be photographed. After such a successful photo shoot it brought me to the realization that I do have what it takes to be model. Come January or February I have every intention to dive head first into this industry as well as go back to school to finish my associate’s degree. I have joined Model Mayhem to get my face out there for more opportunities and experiences. I want to model. I want to be seen. My ultimate goal has always been to become a Victoria’s Secret model. It’s quite possible that it’s a long shot, but it is still worth dreaming about.
