phoTobin Photography is made up of Tobin J.W. Smith and his wife Sarah E.W. Smith (who have been married for more than 15 years).

We have an interest in creating compelling images that give one pause (frames that create thought over simple awe).

Coming from a motion picture background, I (Tobin) often like to delve into motivation and thought with the subject when creating a form, in place of simply posing. Which isn’t to say we don’t sometimes just do that, I just feel the images are stronger when everyone is involved in the frame in some way.

We will and do shoot nude and partial nude, if there is an interesting purpose or provocative image to be created, preferring the “air of mystery” frame over the “no mystery” frame.
