When Henri Cartier-Bresson once said that "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept” it probably still had its original meaning of "conventional", and it probably referred to a rather safe predictability of thought more than it did to a class of individual.
In my understanding he was merely saying that demanding sharpness all the time was a bit of a conventional view.
I must admit that I have always been a little obsessed with technology and thus photography was a perfect combination between my interest in technology and creativity. So of course we are going to get fascinated with the technology (gear) behind photography.

Yet in today's photography, everyone seems to have an unhealthy obsession with how sharp lenses are, how much bokeh they produce, and how eye-popping they can make their images appear. Aren't they misled into thinking that what makes a great photograph are the effects that expensive gear can give you? Shouldn't we rather be obsessed of light and composition? What makes a good picture?

I for myself try to find a good mix between technology and technique. Working with me you will find yourself in digitally created photos with digital gear but you might also look into the lens of an old Polaroid or analog 6x6 camera. I'm fascinated by the mood some combinations of e.g. old lenses with new cameras can create.  Therefor my motto is “I have never tried that before, so I think I should definitely be able to do that.”...
