I grew up on the old east coast until I kicked around the country a bit. Had some jobs in some places - worked on a ranch, a ski resort, a warehouse loading cargo onto a truck, construction. Picked up a camera every now and again - finally had some fella show me how to use it in NYC. Then I used it a bit more across the country. Sometimes I think about picking it up, sometimes I think about putting it down. But light is a funny thing and usually has its own ideas.
