About Me

Among my earliest memories of photography were those of my father's Rollei: it was probably a 6x6 twin reflex, but it was broken years ago. My first nice camera was a Polaroid SX-70, which I thought fantastic with the sonar, instant film and cool shape and, I still use a Polaroid 600 in studio for test shots.

In 2007 I took my first Leica digital on a sailing trip to St. Lucia and the Grenadines. I really got excited about the immediacy of the process - taking images and loading them into my laptop on the same day. It was like having that SX-70 again, but better, because I could view and edit the images. It took about a year to get comfortable with the whole raw workflow, but once landing on a process, I'll never go back.

I am currently enrolled at the International Center of Photography in the CE track program.
