When Carrie Karki began her study of photography more than 20 years ago, her interest wasn't in grinning families. As a horticulturalist and marketing executive, she took many close-up pictures of plants and insects, capturing her beloved nature in great detail.

While growing up in a small rural town In Maryland, Carrie had aspirations of being an artist, and fell in love with the beauty of nature. She has no artistic talent for drawing or painting, but found she could share the allure she finds in the world to others through photography.

Carrie is unsurpassed at finding beauty in the smallest of details. It could be the child giggling to themselves about a bug they found, a child playing with a suitcase, or a grandmother holding her granddaughter in a quite space during a large event.

When not with clients, Carrie is always looking for a new adventure to expand her knowledge. Her hobbies include mountain climbing, traveling, hiking, and learning about new places and people.

Carrie wants to be remembered as a person who made a difference in the world. She has chosen to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families by helping them preserve their memories. That is why in 2013 she started Karki Family Photography. Karki Family Photography is an additional service to Carrie's consulting and marketing company.

Our photographic style combines Carrie's love of nature and people into style that is unique. We do not take pictures in a studio, and prefer locations outdoors or locations that have sentimental value to you and your family.Our goal is not only to take a great picture, but to help you and you family remember important events and occasions.
