I am Peter Russchen (1961), living near Groningen in the Netherlands. Since I was about 16 years old I have been photographing nature and landscapes. I also took a lot of sports-pictures. In 2008 I started doing photoshoots with people and now that is my main subject. I also do weddings. I love the combination of people and nature. I also love natural studio portraits. I always use as little artificial light as possible. All of my photographs are post-processed because I think almost every photo has room for improvement. Depending on the goal of the photoshoot the processing can be mild or severe. Every time I do a shoot I learn something of it and that is for me the beauty of this work: I can always develop new skills. The most important thing in my photography is of course making contact with the people I work with. Explaining what I expect from them and, if it is nescessary, helping them to get the results they want.
Since a few years I am a professional photographer.
