Hi everyone!

My name is Yin and I'm currently a UCLA Psychology major student. I picked up my first camera as a high school graduation gift but didn't fall in love with portraiture until late in my freshman year.

As an introvert, I've always thought my passion for portraiture stemmed from the fact that I get to more comfortably understand and socialize with people behind the glass. As it turned out, I'm now assured that portraiture has forever changed my life because of its unpredictable, limitless nature. Unlike landscape, portraiture is not a "be there at the right time" thing. Instead, every component - model, makeup, lighting, posing, outfit, expression, background, props, etc. has to work harmoniously for a shot to be timeless.

That said, I understand that there's always room for improvement. But I love focusing on every bit of detail and refining them. I'm constantly brainstorming ideas for new shoots. And, if you have inspirations and find my style interesting, definitely hit me up!
