About Me

I am a non-commercial photographer, meaning I don't sell my work to make a living. Given the state of commercial photography today, this might be a good thing. I hold to Todd Hido's dictum that "we can only photograph effectively what we are truly interested in." In terms of people photography, I'm interested in formal portraiture as well as nudes. Two of my current projects are formal portraits of former prison inmates and their families as well as a series of nudes to reveal the beauty of what society pejoratively calls the 'plus size' female form.

In terms of tools, I mostly shoot film and in black and white. I'm exploring alternative printing processes this year, including cyanotypes and albumen.
