My name is George Wade. I have been a professional artist for about 22 years, but I have been drawing for about 30. I credit my parents for encouraging me to take up drawing. My main subject is the female nude...I think the female body is the most beautiful thing that God created, and to have the ability to put that image on paper - by my own hand, is the thing that I'm most passionate. Each of my graphite images takes approximately 10-15 hours to complete. Upon close examination of each of my drawings you will see the layers of graphite wash that has been cross hatched. This technique was developed by Anthony Ryder - a fantastic artist in his own right. I believe this technique lends itself to a clean fresh image; compared to smudging which can leave a shiny, oily finish.
