Born and raised in Vero Beach, Florida, Sydney O’Haire recently graduated with an MFA in Cinema Directing from the School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University. Originally wanting to become a lawyer or politician, Sydney decided to cast that world aside, pursue a career in photography and cinema, and never look back. Sydney works as a freelance photographer, and some of her photos have been featured in USA Today for her client Le Piano, a Chicago jazz club. She enjoys shooting portraits and creating content for businesses, and she shoots digitally and on 35mm film. In March, Sydney began traveling on the festival circuit with her latest short film, "Being Here", where it was a Semi-Finalist at the Bermuda International Film Festival (Academy Award qualifying) and winner of "Best Student Film" at the Magnolia Independent Film Festival. The short film is a proof-of-concept for the feature film version of the story, and the feature screenplay was chosen as a Second Rounder for the 2019 Sundance Screenwriters Lab.
