I am a semi-professional photographer. I'm interested primarily in the male body so I take pictures of artistic nudes. I find it fascinating to see how men react to posing nude: initially there is usually some uneasiness but then as the session(s) progress, I found that almost all the models find the experience liberating. I think most men are not used to have their physical appearance appreciated in an artistic context, and feel quite validated by photographs that help them feel good about themselves. Also, I think they feel liberated once they learn to distinguish between sensual images and sexual/pornographic images of the naked male body. The last session with a model to sketching, which allows me to decant the dynamic essence of the individual body in front of me -- my sketches are not realistic but rather try to capture the energy of a living body.
