Megan Sousa, born Megan Ashley Sousa, is the oldest of four children. She was born in Hartford, CT to a Portuguese father and African-American mother. She grew up loving dramatic and comedic films and television shows. Early on, her parents noticed her paintings, short stories, poems, and natural ability to perform on the spot. She eventually booked local commercials, starred in school plays and performed as a background actor in the movie Like Mike (2002). Her love for writing and creating developed in her decision to pursue filmmaking with a focus in acting and writing.

Megan went on to attend Tuskegee University as a Nursing student in the Air Force ROTC. She soon changed her focus to Psychology with a minor in English while being involved with creative activities such as her very own Youth Outreach Program and Drama Class. In pursuit of self-discovery, she explored modeling and acting projects on campus and in Atlanta, GA.

Upon completing her college years, against her conservative father’s wishes, she drove cross-country to Los Angeles to pursue film full-time.  She broke into LA doing makeup for editorials and films such as Battle Buddy (2011). After gaining some knowledge and experience, she went on to study with Billy Cowart of Van Nuys, CA at WCI Studios, Demitri Boudrine in Hollywood, CA at the Stella Adler Theatre and currently, Paul Kampf of P.A.I. in Hollywood, CA and at the L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Megan continues to showcase her versatility and range in films such as S.O.S (2012) written, produced and starring herself, Zero (2012) airing on HBO February 2013, Bruise (2012) and a comedy web series Dumbass Filmmakers (2012).  She draws inspiration from legends such as Jim Carey, Meryl Streep, Will Smith, Marlon Brando, Quentin Tarantino, and Steven Spielberg. Ultimately, Megan is collaborating with many up and coming filmmakers, including Def Comedy Jam producer Bob Sumner, while expanding her brand as a versatile actor, writer, and filmmaker.
