One form of artistic expression that does not seem to get enough credit is that of the makeup artist. Makeup is the medium through which the artist utilizes the face, body or any piece of the former as the canvas on which they best express their emotions. Makeup can be beautiful, but it can also be dark and dangerous, or light-hearted and playful.

I want to show people the ways makeup can influence how beauty and art can be perceived. I want to change the definition of what “makeup” can be and show others how different applications of ordinary objects can have an all-new meaning.

My goal with Model Mayhem is to find others like myself who want to break the mold of the typical artist, and work together to create something new and fresh for the eye.
