I am a Spanish fashion photographer. I was born in the Canary Islands in 1959 and started working in publicity in Barcelona in 1981. Since then, I have lived in Paris, London, New York, Milano and Madrid. I currently live in the south of Spain and work as a portrait and fashion photographer.
What defines my style and way of working is the fact that I use mainly traditional analogical cameras and work with natural light, both indoors and outdoors. I rarely use the flash and most of my work is in black and white. I use my digital camera only when the customer demands color.
As for my way of working, in my view the model shouldn’t be a static mannequin. On the contrary I consider my job to direct them and help them bring out what they have inside. My sessions are simple and effective.
My most recent exhibitions have in "El sonido de la lava" in Tenerife (Spain) in June 2009, and an exhibition of 200 portraits in Málaga (Spain) in February 2010. I have also participated in the Open Art Fair in Utrecht (Holland) in September 2009. My next project is a collective exhibition at the Gaudi Gallery in Madrid in June 2010.
