About Me

RICK CASTRO is a photographer, filmmaker & writer living & working in los angeles his entire life.

Castro’s  photography has been published in Art in America, Dazed Digital, Flaunt, Tetu, Manner, Attitude, and Studio Magazines.

Castro’s photography, books and films are in the permanent collections of The Alfred Kinsey Institute, archived at the UCLA library, and The Leather Museum in Chicago.

Castro’s work has been published in artist editions, exhibitions and institutions worldwide.

As a filmmaker, Rick co-directed and wrote the cult film Hustler White, (1996), and the documentary Plushies & Furries, (2001) for MTV.

Castro has photographed portraits of the Dalai Lama, (sipping tea) American writer- Gore Vidal, 1970’s porn star- Peter Berlin, producer Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, Tales of the City), filmmaker Kenneth Anger, and his longtime muse, model & actor-Tony Ward.  Castro owns and runs ANTEBELLUM GALLERY in Hollywood.
