”Beyond Vanilla” isn’t my real name. I am not the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vanilla. My friends don’t call me “Beyond”. I’m a photographer. My name is Mike. I’m a harmless pervert. I’m not scary to talk to, meet, or work with and most people consider me to be “fairly normal”. 

”Beyond Vanilla” is not just a catchy name, it’s really my mission statement. For many years I’ve earned a living as a “vanilla” photographer doing similar things over and over to pay the bills. My work became “blah” to me because my creativity was stifled. I was operating within a socially acceptable perimeter of constraints that didn’t include anything like what you see in this portfolio.

”Beyond Vanilla” images are the result of my inner need to create art. I can’t paint. I can’t draw. I don’t choreograph. I don’t write poetry or play a musical instrument. I attempt to create artistic photographic images that have some “substance” and hopefully, sometimes, I succeed.  Many of my images tend to be sexy. I learned about doing that from the advertising industry, it works for them. Some of my images could be labeled “erotic”, that’s intentional and if erotic art doesn’t appeal to you, you may be suffering from vanilla poisoning. 

I am currently working hard to expand and improve this portfolio. I am always looking for models, makeup artists, and stylists to collaborate with. I am currently doing some limited TFP work with other industry professionals who are willing to work hard to create beautiful images. I would like to add more bondage images, images of two female models, and models wearing latex. If you feel that working together could provide a mutual benefit, contact me. I don’t bite.
