About Me

Please Read My Profile completely before contacting me, thanks.

Starting in January, I'm going to shoot more film. More black and white and color. If you would like to work with me contact me here.

My mission here is to provide a photography service to aspiring and established models who need images to promote themselves and their portfolios. Except in very rare instances all work with me is TF.

I DO NOT ACCEPT FRIEND REQUESTS FROM RETOUCHERS!! I am not interested in any type of collaboration.

Be advised: I don't Facebook; I don't Twitter; I don't Instagram. I do PM here on MM; I do email, see below; I use the telephone and I text...and I feed models.

I don't set trends and I don't follow trends and I take a great deal of pride in my work. I shoot what I like to shoot and I think I have some interesting concepts to accomplish. I am an avid hobbyist and I pay models when I can afford to. If your rates are negotiable I know we can reach an agreement for compensation. Also, I only deal with models directly. I do not go through managers or agents or anyone else when setting up a project or discussing compensation. Whenever possible, I like to meet with a model before doing a shoot. This meeting will tell us both what we would like to accomplish together.

I like to keep my shoots simple. I don't like clutter. I use very few props, if any props at all. I'm not really into glamour or fashion photography. I admire the photography of Peter Basch, Peter Gowland, Bunny Yeager, George Mann, Russ Meyer, and other photographers of that bygone era. I strive to emulate the style of the 1950s and 1960s. I like color but I lean more toward black and white. I still shoot black and white film.

I have no problem with an unobtrusive escort. Someone who stays out of the way and is quiet. I see an escort as an extra pair of hands in case I need help during a shoot. If you want to bring an escort to a shoot, please let me know before hand. Don't surprise me on the day of the shoot and tell me you are bringing a friend for security. One more thing, I prefer that the escort not be a boyfriend or husband. Bring a female friend as an escort. I find this works very well.

To commenters: If you are going to comment on one of my photos, say something more than "nice shot," "what a pretty model," or "what a figure." Say something about the concept, setting or location, the pose of the model, exposure, composition. Give good, thoughtful commentary on the image, not just a generic "wow." Most likely I will respond in kind with a comment on one of your images.

Please, no random, drive-by or unsolicited friend requests. Look at my list of friends. A pretty small list. I'm not here to collect friends. If we have worked together in the past, well, then we are probably friends. If you do send me an unsolicited friend request I will probably delete it or ignore it. I DO NOT ACCEPT FRIEND REQUESTS FROM RETOUCHERS!! If you are someone who wants to shoot with me, private message me about what you would like to shoot. A friend request or a tag just doesn't cut it as a request to work with me.

I am interested in photographing models with their pets. I would like to shoot with a model who is heavily tattooed. I would like to shoot with a model with a horse. I am interested in doing a shoot depicting ballet. A shoot with a model and a full length mirror would be fun. I have a lot of simple, fun ideas to explore. How about a shoot with a vintage Airstream? A shoot with a musical instrument like a guitar, a violin, a cello, a mandolin, perhaps a harp.

There are models who expect all images made during a shoot be given to them after shooting is done. It doesn't work that way with me and here's why: I shoot DNG format, Adobe's universal digital negative. These DNGs, or digital negatives are my property, just like the old days when all photographers shot film and retained ownership of the film negatives. Of course the model will receive images from the shoot. The images received will be selected by me or selected by me and the model together. The images get needed editing and the model will get both web and printable images.

I can be contacted here on MM anytime.

"Frank is an absolute gentleman that captures models and their pet's mood and emotion through his camera lense. He came to my home to shoot my cat and bunny and myself and we've already planned two additional shoots. I'd highly recommend working with Frank if you want something different in your portfolio!"
