About Me

My overarching goal as a hair stylist and makeup artist is to make people feel like the best version of themselves, no matter the situation.

Looking back on my youth, habits of too thick eye liner and too light foundation, my career in hair and makeup certainly wasn’t foreshadowed. I instead studied art in university; photography and printmaking to be specific. I researched art history. Painting. Colour. Texture. Shape. All the while, informing my beliefs and ideas about beauty. I wanted to paint. To sculpt. To create. And once I graduated university I knew hair and makeup would give me those possibilities.

Quickly enrolling at the School of Professional Makeup Artistry I found myself assisting my teacher, Rob Closs on the set of CBC’s Steven and Chris. Things haven’t slowed down since.

Having worked with various makeup brands, including Yaby, Face Atelier, Stila, Clarins and Makeup Forever, I have gained a great understanding of different products and their formulations. This past year I had the unique experience of working with female body builders for competitions. Recently, I have managed and provided training for a successful blow dry bar, Blo Bloor West Village. I’ve also had the privilege of appearing on CTV’s Marilyn Denis to whip up some beautiful braids for her audience.

Today, beauty is my life. When I’m not on the set of a commercial or waking up before dawn for a wedding, I’m reading and writing about hair and makeup over on my blog (check it - http://www.makeupthehustle.wordpress.com).

I draw influence from my background in art and have a comprehensive understanding of light and colour from direct experience with photography and printmaking. My ideals of beauty come from art history all the way to fashion to street style. I’m known for my amazing braids, a flawless natural look and (if we’re being modest) my sense of humour and strong work ethic.

I’m available and interested in a variety of projects and hold both a European Union and Canadian passport, making me always available for international travel.
