About Me

My name is Shidoshi and I’ve been planning and booking shoots as a professional photographer regularly since early 2008. I've explored a lot of different avenues to find my artistic “niche” – however, my deepest interest as a photographer lies in planning theme shoots and always having varied, original projects to keep me learning.

Everybody has a camera these days and even some of the “regular” people I bump into on the street usually have camera equipment fit for a Vanity Fair cover shoot and looking like they have press access to photograph professionally at the Olympics (from a mile away with a massive, telescopic lens no less), so technology these days clearly takes almost all of the guess work out of simply taking a clear picture. The art of being a photographer really lies in what you photograph and when . . . as I believe it should be anyway.

My belief is that the key to taking great photographs is simply the ability to be in the moment. Of course that sounds ridiculously cliché, but there is truth in it. Once that level of comfort and communication is reached between the photographer and the model, it becomes easier to anticipate the perfect moments to click away and catch those elusive elements that make all the difference between a good picture and a GREAT picture. As in all other aspects of life, a photographer has to find the harmonious balance of many crucial elements that compose a shot and weave them into single artistic expression - otherwise you might as well stick to taking snapshots at family reunions and birthday parties with disposable cameras.

I am a committed and dedicated photographer who understands his models and his/her/their potential well enough to capture something very special and unique. I have a very specific editing style that I use to turn great pictures into works of art. The finished photograph has to convey the moment of cohesive realism between the subject and the moment just as much as it conveys expression of emotion in any other sense.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some very rewarding clients and outstanding models who have pushed my creative comfort zone and who have helped shape my work into more than I ever expected it would become. What started out as a simple hobby has become a deep and rewarding passion for me. My work is very much an artistic experiment in photography that will continue to evolve from the experiences facilitated by the models, subjects and events that I shoot.

Please enjoy the pictures I am proud to share with you here. I hope they impress and inspire you.
