Mark I shoot a good deal of nudework , but would LOVE to find a model like this, who really knows her stuff, as model's who can act convincingly are SO rare. Actually the model I shot nudes with yesterday was one such gal, who could be sweet/coy & erotic at once. Quite a treat. Quite a gal.

I'm a woman and I have absolutely no trouble being turned on by things that I see. I'd say I'm at least as visually oriented as any man I've ever met -- more so than some of them....
Edit: as for the original question, I think I can remember a time or two when I was aware that a photographer may have become aroused during a shoot -- but since they were ignoring it, so did I. (It is a slightly uncomfortable feeling, but as long as long as he remains professional and doesn't change his demeanor, I'm fine.)
Now, if a photographer were to comment on it, make jokes about it, or in any way draw attention to it, I'd probably have a hard time relaxing. I guess if it ever happens, I can pull this thread up again and post about it....

its hard not to be aroused in some way shape of form. you may not show it with a raging hardon but you may have a though on what you are seeing.. the poiont is to not let the model see it or hear it or know what teh hell is going on with it.. if duct taping it to your belly is the only thing that you can do to not appear unprofessional then have atter.. i wouldnt.. if you cant be professional during the shoot then you need to excuse yourself from the room gain composure and either carry on or stop the session..

naked= beauty=appealing=exciting...oversimplification and yes we male of the apecies do tend to be a bit more visual when it comes to getting aroused...and if you get a model who really knows how to project well then yes arousal will occur..hopefully more mental then physical..i can hide the one, but the other..not so much:-)

My work is about arousal and sexuality, so it would be ridiculously disingenuous to deny that my own sexuality is involved in the images. That said, it would be most accurate to say that the images I make are things that have aroused me in the past...and may well arouse me in the future. While I'm actually making the images, I'm usually preoccupied with arousing the viewer rather than worrying about getting off myself.

i usually sweat like hell during the shoot trying to get things right. during the shoot, i am all about creating something that makes the viewer excited. i guess that makes me excited. any thought during the shoot should be related to that.

Reading the responses here would lead one to believe that photographers are either total horn-dogs or castrated androids...Last time I checked photographers(male or female) are living breathing human beings,organism who will almost invariably respond in one fashion or another to the most primal stimuli known to our species(ya know, seeing the opposite gender, or in some cases the same, NAKED lol....). Point being, ANYBODY'S pulse, temperature and respiration rate should at least twitch a bit initially, unless you're a total stiff(no not the male appendage, I mean DEAD lol). Either that, or there is something seriously wrong with you physiologically....
Now, many will be able to focus on the task at hand, contain obvious outward signs of arousal and be purely a photographer, while others will act like rabbits in heat and make total asses of themselves. Obviously, there will be varying degrees of response from person to person....It's really no different than being a doctor, and besides, after one sees enough naked bodies on a regular basis, most tend to get somewhat "desensitized" to that stimulus.
It's all about self-control, mind over matter, it's following the head that contains the thinking brain, not the little one that has nothing more than hypersensitive nerve endings lol...Also, what was the intent is in regard to getting someone to undress for you in the first place?....It's either for the camera to create art, or it's to get some...

Personally, I think it's just human nature to be aroused, but it's unprofessional to let it SHOW. You can want to throw the camera away and take the model right then and there, but keep it to yourself and show a little self-control. I like the duct tape idea... just be careful taking it off! lol.

This is just like anywhere else when dealing with the workplace ... doesn't matter what the female employee wears, you're supposed to not pay attention to the fact she's TRYING to get your attention, TRYING to use her ASSets to make you forget she's underqualified, hired by affirmative action/EEO/EOE quota requirements ... you're supposed to look at her like she's got just as much swinging meat as you do and treat her like one of the guys (but damn you to hell if you don't open the door for her) ... maybe you should talk race cars and football with her, and offer her a beer and a cigar while you're shooting and ask her about those Yankees.

I know you and you know me. How would I deal with it? You know I'd be embarassed- you know that. Would I ignore it? I don't know, it's never happened to me. I, just like any other person, find it difficult to concentrate on anything else when I'm aroused. So, I think it's safe to assume that if the photographer is that turned on, that he isn't paying attention to the actual shoot. Why do you think he wouldn't be able to do his job just because you're doing yours?
You add "and I would be right". How do you know how any photographer will react to being aroused during a shoot. I'll bet many of your photographers were, but didn't mention it and maybe were not "enough" to enable you to tell.

Oddly, not until I know I'm in my groove and then, though I'm turned on, it has nothing to do with the model. Call it a Zen moment.
As an interesting counter to that, Rodney Smith once told me when I asked him about his shooting, "No matter who I'm shooting, I fall completely head-over-heels in love with my subject. It's how I make my images work."
