I had this feeling in New York that I've never felt anywhere else..

I can't even explain it.

It was magical..

Going on Auditions and Go-Sees.

The humidity and smoke from the city.

The busy streets.

Different cultures everywhere.

Then my feet started to hurt....Then I bought some Chinese slippers.

Those ended up tearing to shreds by the end of the day..Ouch!

Can we say yummy to the fresh fruits and soup in China Town?!

What was your experience like in New York?

I wanna know..

I loved New York! Been there twice. The second time was more enjoyable, because I wasn't on a damn tour so I had more time to go wherever. I did 10 hours of walking around in one day!

Being richer, I'd totally go there every month.

It smelled funny, But I was booked almost solid modeling so I didn't really get to explore much. I'll be there again soon, and I want to see what I may have missed.

EVERY LAST PERSON I met there, was so intelligent, and had their own sculpted visions of what they want. It was amazing, and I am so glad for it.

I LOVE New York.

I'm a major dork, so my favorite part was riding the subway, which is so freaking different from the Metro in LA or in Paris.

big_smile

The pizza, shopping and Ebby was pretty awesome too.

Wow!!

Congrats on your bookings girl..

Your talents over shadowed your flaws..

Yes, people there were so open and helpful with directions and using the subway.

Yikes!!

I'm planning a trip sometime in Oct-Nov for shooting - who wants to come?!?

I've never been to NYC, although I used to live upstate when I was little.  I'm very excited about my first all-growed-up trip there.

Can't wait to read what everyone else posts here!

Did you say walking???

Hahaha tell me about it...

My slippers were in shreds by the end of the day..

What streets did you walk on for the shops?

Canal St???

Yes, well we don't do that to ALL of the tourists! (just some)

I was born & raised in NYC and still live here.

Incidentally, there is an entire site devoted to reporting amusing things overheard in the City (check http://www.overheardinnewyork.com/ for hours of entertainment)

Unfortunately, the weather was very sucky (cold and rainy in the month of May), so we didn't go to Chinatown because it's already smelly when it's sunny, just imagine when it just rained... Our hotel was on 40th street near 3rd avenue I think, so in one day we walked down to 25th (not sure, but it was around that) street then went up to 72nd (Strawberry Fields, the Dakota). It was crazy! But so much fun. big_smile We sort of got lost in Central Park, if that's even possible. My feet were sore at the end of the day, and I had good shoes. We took a cab to go back to the hotel (they are a lot cheaper than in Montreal, but so much crazier!!!!).

We had a 24/7 Deli/Convenience store right next to our hotel (Charlie's, or something like that). Nothing like buying a pint of Haagen Daaz ice cream at 2am! I got hit on by one of the hotel clerks, it was funny. Oh and one night we went to see a musical, Spamalot by Monty Python! Epic. I can't remember the name of the store, but there was this place selling Hello Kitty everything that was still open at 11:30pm! We don't have stores closing that late here... Macy's was insanely huge. There are a lot of McDonald's, but I noticed the McMuffins in the States are slightly different from ours. Not the same type of english muffins, and the cheese was weird. Haha.

I found Montreal to be so small when I came back... Damn!

Growing up in nyc has given me the ability to sound remarkably unimpressed about the most impressive things.  I never realized it before until I started meeting ppl from other states. They'd comment that I never sounded particularly excited about anything(even if I was). I've never really noticed this characteristic in ppl from anywhere else..except maybe paris.its strange cause it seems like la has the perkiest ppl in the country lol. Im not speaking for all nyers just the ones I know.

So yeah that's part of my experience.

Tourist are a pain in the butt. Especially during the summer. I had some business to do on canal st the other day...I nearly went on a rampage lmao.

Generally when I go somewhere I try very hard not to act like a silly chicken without a head tourist. I understand the buildings are tall guys, but could you look straight ahead when crossing the street? Thanks. Our cabbies will run your butt over wink

Lol I honestly never realized it till I went to PA and they'd go "are you excited about the party" and id go "yeah it sounds fan freakin tastic" and  id get responses like " no reason to be sarcastic! God.."

Even when I wasn't being sarcastic! When im visibily excited its kinda awkward lol

On a better note people always assume you're cool when they find out you're from nyc.

omg gurl! R.U. serious? I've never been to NY...yet.

I know when I was in San Fran and I went grocery shopping, I was shocked that their prices were higher than SoCali...them being part of California and all.
A TV dinner that's 99 cents down here at Food4less....$7.99. 2 litter soda? $5. I was shocked. I tried to stick to eating out or ordering pizza.
