Your work is excellent and pinups are gorgeous and this was already listed as my fav among many on your port like the nice post work, some are perceived as complex or exaggerated but doesn't bother me. Your art nudes are fine and I usually don't care much for. I like your vision of retro . another fav. I find the "wings " genre very tacky https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/29868828 loose it if you want.

Well nice shots, cool saturated colors, pretty ladies is in abundance in your port. out of 60 photos I wish I could find one picture that would grab my attention, I wished to be puzzled on technique or giving me a story. A good photographer takes correctly exposed good photos, a great photographer makes me dream. I think you are just a good photographer. Indoor shots looks a bit flat. Outdoor shoots are just outdoor shoots. Nothing to list at this time. Keep shooting and gear up with some portable studio strobes and soft boxes.

This is the first portfolio I put up on ModelMayhem in August of 2006. A number of people appear to like some of my works. Go ahead and take a peek inside. I'm interested in seeing if you feel any of the photographs I have posted here are worthy of you listing it. Thank you.

Cheshire Isaacs wrote: Please let me know what you think. Thanks! Nice range of work, but can be perfected as far as its projected value, for instance in this romantic couple theme their demeanor is imho is wrong and you need to watch and correct those things even if it might seem insignificant to most, for instance in a photo having the man grab the lady's waist doesn't show any romance, shows rather "ownership". In this frame his fingers should be touching delicately the lady's hand. You do great in outdoors but can do much better indoors. This one for instance could be improved a lot both in lighting and selection of outfit against the background and the color of the couch, which kind of fades out the subject of interest, flattening her clothing and the mood. Her tattoo is also an added distraction and jumps to the eye and we all know that's not the main event. Her pants are black the background wall is a dark color, some of the couch is not well lit dark burgundy and doesn't look nice. IN this one I am not sure if you used a beauty dish, in any case it might have been aimed slightly off and intensity of the light diffusion is less on her face. Looks though still nice. I like this kind of low light yellow warm tints in a picture but what an opportunity lost to give a better feel then the "girlfriend who wishes no longer to go out with you" then a feel of " I have been missing you" ... framing is slanted and even if some motion blur adds to the drama nevertheless this is not the way to go. I like this very much, nice color saturation contrast and exposure. For stock use I hope you have a not so tight cropped version. Awesome shot gorgeous colors, great settings and fabulous model. Keep it up, only small things makes a big difference in photography. Some models can make any photographer look good but we don't have that luxury all the time

varton wrote: With the right photographer you will do very well in pinup genre. I meant, really, the right photographer, because if they fail they will be failing you not themselves, because technically they might shoot you right but in a pointless way, where no one sees soul, expression, and attitude. Work on your poses and face expressions. Study other's work. Stay also away shooting redundant themes for your port. If you are serious in modeling find a good make up artist as well. Get some decent headshots. Establish goals and stick to them if you want to succeed. Thank you I am workin on it classic pin up where i want to be. i know my port doesn't reflect it yet, but I have been saving pics to try to see how to fix my hair, and learn to do the make up. don't have the wardrobe right now, ordered a ccouple things though. I love the era . I love vintage clothes and antique shops. I have three 50's dresses. Bright blue, bright pink, and a creamy coral crate dress. The bright may clash with the locations I have been using, and the crate is veru delicate. no cleaners will take the crate :-/ Anyway I appreciate the feedback, and wish me luck Anna

Some photos have colors artificially saturated at or over borderline of realistic. Generally your edits and image manipulations need to be improved as the "fake" factor overrides "creativity" factor. I don't see any picks for my list as most of your work is pretty generic of gorgeous models in full exposure for which I have not set up any lists. Good luck in your endeavors.

Coveal Photo wrote: I'd like to know. Thank you. dg Coeval: Meaning simultaneous, synchronous, and or contemporary. like it! OK tell me why in this colors are all messed up, I expected blue skies where Robyn dwells anyway this looks better but colors are still fake God, I love her expression. Anyway let's go on; I am not sure what kind of processing you are applying but this doesn't look happy either Like this one but prefer high contrast Watch your " hi key" studio shoots , in this the model's waist area is burned, and what an idea of dressing her up in sheer white over a white background. It's very hard to pull it off even for very experienced photographers. I see some good concepts in this you burned her face and if you do this kind of shoots you must use more then one light source to null shadows, e.g. the cast of her guitar's neck's shadow is so blatant on her skin it is an eye sore. Use at least 2 soft boxes, pointing to the subject from left and right with uneven power factor and heights and experiment to null the "hard" shadows, unless that's what you want. Avoid meh looks on models coach them and don't let them be bored by your concepts or put them in a pose or posture where anxiety can kick in. I like this the best you could polish it a bit with the paint shop pro since you used it to add a funky frame OK to summarize, artificial lighting must be mastered your models need to be motivated and no playing recklessly with picture filters and controls. Keep it up and try harder. Good luck.

Many thanks for the observations.......especially the ones related to high contrast. SW Virginia had lots of overcast rainy days this past summer and blue sky at times was hard to find. dg

Barely StL wrote: Go for it! And thanks! OK first observation to my trained eye : I wish you didn't cut and paste this model into the green jade background. Well out of 16 pictures nothing grabbed my fancy to list, but it is not to say that your photos are bad. I like your color art nudes even if I am accustomed to see more of those in black and white. I am noting the fact that your port is mostly focused on nudes and call me weird my attitude towards nudes is as neutral or indifferent as it gets because total nudity or even implied nudity bore me to tears. Don't mind me. Perhaps using better "voyeur " angles to your subjects could add a bit of pizzazz to trigger interest in the otherwise static and predicted "action" . Technically your work may be good but in some pictures I see model absence. e.g. https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31111042 https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32866667 (would delete, not a good face expression, nice use of location though) https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30621990 pointless cut and paste and so plastic and synthetic. If I were the model I would object to be pictured like this. At some point if you have replaced your model with a flower vase the outcome would be perceived the same. I am also noting that your lighting is well controlled but I don't like much the warmth felt due probably to some boost in color saturation during post. watch your crops and framing https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30621984 I would hire a real good digital artist to redo this https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30715435 rather then venturing myself. I usually don't understand the need for doing those concepts, very susceptible to fall into "tacky" category despite all good intentions. In this picture cut and paste of items belonging to dissimilar color palette is so obvious that I doubt it can be easily corrected. Anyway I always found that having your photos manipulated by retouchers and digital artists is like having your child raised by others. If I had to pick a best this would be https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30621039 Word of advice; Just prove that you are a good photographer, leave the fiction to others. Good luck to you, studio work is not bad at all. Brighten your work a bit, add other themes.
